Congratulations to Kincey Wilson: A Milestone Achievement for SHS Choir
A big congratulations to Kincey Wilson for making history at Slaton High School! Yesterday, Kincey became the first choir student from SHS to audition and place at Pre-Area, a major milestone in her journey toward the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Choir. This is not just a win for Kincey, but a testament to the power of dedication, persistence, and hard work.
Kincey’s journey to this moment began this past summer when she started preparing for the TMEA All-State auditions. Over the last several months, she has put in countless hours of practice and preparation. Earlier this semester, her dedication paid off when she placed 4th chair soprano at the Region Auditions, showcasing her talent and commitment to excellence.
But Kincey didn’t stop there.
At yesterday’s Pre-Area auditions, she competed with some of the best vocalists in the region, and we are proud to share that she secured a spot as 3rd chair soprano! This is a huge accomplishment, and we couldn't be more excited for her as she continues on this incredible journey.
Kincey’s next step will take her to Midland in January, where she will compete in the final Area All-State Audition. If she places in that audition, she will earn the honor of representing Slaton ISD at the TMEA All-State Choir in San Antonio this February—a dream come true for any young musician.
We want to take a moment to celebrate Kincey’s hard work, discipline, and passion for music. Her achievement is a shining example of what can happen when you set your mind to a goal and give it everything you’ve got. It’s a reminder to all of us that with persistence and determination, we can achieve great things.
We wish Kincey the best of luck as she prepares for her state audition. You’ve already made us incredibly proud, Kincey, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll continue to accomplish!
It's a great day to be a Tiger!
