Buckle Up and Stop Texting
by Shari Singleton

Slaton ISD’s School Health Advisory Committee brought the B.U.S.T. program to junior high and high school students on May 20th. Because of the desire Pete Christy has to support and encourage the youth of this area, God has used him and News 11 to establish a program called
B.U.S.T. (Buckle Up and Stop Texting).
Following the death of 17 year-old Seagraves senior, Alex Marie Brown, B.U.S.T. was born. With it came an amazing response from all around the viewing area.
The family of Alex Brown wishes to express our appreciation for all Pete Christy and News 11 has done to promote this program. The support and love shown for our family during this difficult time can only be described as amazing. It is our desire to educate youth and adults of dangers associated with texting and driving.
