FCCLA members (Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America) are busy planning a fall harvest dance to be held after the last football game. They participated in DECA’s Treat or Trunk, are preparing for regional STAR Event contests and have several preparing to run for Regional Offices. They will also sponsor a toy drive in December for the Slaton Housing Authority.
Gayla Carlton has returned to the Marketing/Career Preparation class. She has always been very involved with DECA and once again has her DECA students working on many projects. Halloween weekend they sponsored Treat or Trunk for community children. Their annual fruit and candle fundraiser will begin in November. She is also helping her students get ready for marketing contests in the spring. All of her students are currently working at job sites in and around Slaton.
Pat Moses has her cosmetology students busy learning all the basic and new haircuts and taking appointments. Appointments times are M-F 1:30-3:45 and Thursdays from 4:00-7:00. They do a great job and offer most salon services for extremely reasonable prices.
