Stephen F. Austin’s 2011-2012 school slogan is “Learn on the Wild Side!” We are pleased to welcome you and your family to Stephen F. Austin Primary School, home of the roaring tigers! The 2011-2012 school year promises to be very exciting. Our staff is committed to providing your child with the basic skills necessary for success in the future and to providing the best instructional programs possible. We are proud to be part of such an excellent school, one that has respectful and high-achieving students, and outstanding and enthusiastic staff, and a supportive parent community. In our efforts to make our school’s program effective, we understand and support the importance of a working relationship between home and school. This cooperative attitude enhances all children’s learning. Our Positive Behavior System includes an effective school wide management plan that is proactive and positive. The staff have worked together to organize the unstructured areas of the campus. To focus on learning, our staff has attended and practices differentiated instruction, CSCOPE curriculum, Conscious Discipline, co-teaching, inclusive education, response to intervention model, and CHAMPS. The staff of SFA is working to identify and maximize student’s strengths along with addressing student’s needs. Our students participate in many reward programs. Positive rewards include: notes home, ROARing Tiger Club, Perfect Attendance Prizes, and many other exciting events. Our goal is to provide each student with a positive environment that fosters’ learning. Most importantly, SFA students will make positive contributions as productive citizens to our Slaton community.
