Our art students submitted 24 pieces to the Scholastic Art regional show last week.  The pieces are judged by people in New York digitally. We earned three honorable mentions and one silver key this year!  The art show will be at the Abraham Gallery on the Wayland Baptist campus in Plainview.  There will be a reception and awards ceremony on January 20th from 2-4pm. Mary Jo Parker qualified to run at the Texas State Cross Country Meet!  This is an incredible achievement as only a small percentage of athletes ever get to compete at this level.  The meet is Saturday, November 4th in Round Rock at Old Settler’s Park.  SHS will send her off at 6:30am Friday, November 3rd, departing from the horseshoe at Slaton High School.  Mr. Murphy invites all family, friends and Slatonites to be at the high school at 6:25 Friday morning to wish her luck, show her our support, and to send her off to Round Rock.
