Cathelene Thomas Elementary serves about 500 students in
Pre K-3 as well as the district’s special education
classes for those grade levels. Instructional
specialists boost the district’s efforts to excel in
reading and mathematics. Technology access can be
found in each classroom and in the school’s two computer
labs. Instruction is supplemented with computer
assisted instruction utilizing Plato reading and
mathematics, Study Island Science, Read Naturally, Fast
Math, and Technology Applications. Saxon Phonics
supplements the school’s language arts program. A
restructured schedule allows for additional science and
social studies instruction. The school boasts a
full-time P.E. program and the art program is recognized
throughout the region. The campus has been rated
Exemplary three of the last six years and Recognized the
other three.
